ETHNOBOTANICAL CONSERVATORY
Located in Castelluccio Superiore,it is a research and documentation center for the study of applied botany and ethnobotany. The Conservatory houses the herbarium of the Lucanian and Mediterranean flora (xylotheque, fruit-seeds and gemmoteca) in the structure.
The botanical collection is completed by a thematic library and the Hortus Basiliano as a garden of Lucanian medicinal and alimurgical varieties.
Didactic-experiential place as a floristic primer of useful food, aromatic, artisanal, curative and cosmetic species.
Its objective (in addition to telling visitors about the millennial relationship between plants and humans and making known the importance that plants have had for the existence of humanity) is the conservation of the seeds of rare plants or in danger of extinction.

BOTANICUM
It is an annual scientific event organized by the VOS Foundation, focusing on medicinal plants as a function of people’s health.
The event, connected with the Officinal Plants supply chain, is held annually in Castelluccio Superiore, generally on the third Sunday of September.
In addition to updating and professional training, the scientific event aims to make a contribution to the growth of the medicinal herbs supply chain and aims to take stock of the sector’s development prospects, but also to promote synergies between institutions, the business system and protected areas.
